A vacancy exists for a driver. The position is based in Banjul with frequent travel to project sites throughout Gambia
Key Responsibilities
- Drive organisation’s vehicles in a professional and safe manner to support project
- All use of vehicle is according to UP procedures and recorded in in the Vehicle Logbooks (VLB)
- Ensure all vehicles are fully equipped with safety equipment i.e., spare wheel, jack, wheel puller, first aid kit & fire extinguisher
- Ensure that vehicles are clean and in good state of repair, and that maintenance schedules are adhered
- Ensure all vehicles are fueled in line with organisational procedures
- Update the logbook with all the required data – trips, fuel, maintenance
- Ensure all paperwork in relation to the vehicle e.g., insurance, licences
- Ensure vehicles are parked on the office premises after working hours or in other authorised locations.
- Ensure UP Gambia travel safety policies are adhered to
- Support Country Programme offices on administration tasks as requested
- Assist to represent UP and project a positive reputation for the organisation
- Perform other duties assigned by Line Manager outside Job Description
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must be Gambian national, in possession of a driving license
- Over five years’ experience as a driver in a non-Governmental organization or a company
- Possession of an Ordinary level certificate
- Fluency in English language, both written and spoken, and ability to speak local languages
- Willingness to adhere to United Purpose’s Code of Conduct
